In this story called, "The Story of An Hour,"� by Kate Chopin's , it is about a young sensitive woman who was informed about the tragedy of the death of her husband. Written in 1894, "The Story of an Hour"� is a story of a woman who, through the erroneously reported death of her husband, experienced true freedom. Both tragic and ironic, the story deals with the boundaries imposed on women by society in the nineteenth century. As this story begins, it explains to the readers the unpredictable reactions this woman is about to engage. This story is basically showing a lot of description and sorrow. Yet, sorrow is not the exact word to explain the disbelief feeling that Mrs. Mallard was about to face. Though things are not as what it may seem and the consequences Mrs. Mallard is about to encounter, this story will reveal a deep secret that Mrs.

Mallard has been hiding for years. It was very critical that Mrs. Mallard was informed about her husband's death in a gentle way due to her heart trouble. Chopin offers Mrs. Mallard's strange story to reveal the troubles that are natural in the custom of marriage. There are various ways in which people may feel about their loved ones and might not even had the chance to speak of how they feel. Many people of all different ages, sexes, and cultures would react dissimilar to the astonishing depiction of the Mallards' marriage.

During this "hour"�, she felt true joy and freedom, but her life ended abruptly as her husband walked through the door. Like Mrs. Mallard, Chopin's writing career began once her husband died.
