I can hear them coming, the soldiers marching in rhythm. The sounds of hundreds of pieces of metal armor clashing together. Soon they will be upon me. Soon I will die.

These past days, I have been having second thoughts about the fate which the three witch sisters have bestowed upon me. It was just hours ago one of the prophecies was overturned. The wood of Birnam has begun to move towards my castle, Dunsinane. It is just as the witches told it. "Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill shall come against him." they said. Never fear, my great reign shall not end so easily. Alas my poor wife, not here to take up throne next to me in my castle, or should I say, the now empty castle. Damn peasants have deserted me! Poor Seyton did try to stop them, but was promptly shot in the head with a bolt by a cowardly soldier.

Ah well, while I set here I can't help but think what would've happened if I had handled events differently? What would've happened if I hadn't betrayed this great country that had been so good to me?

Back before the witches I was a valiant soldier, fighting ... and winning a lot of wars for my great leader, King Duncan. It was on the fateful day where we had caught the Thane of Cawdor, a traitor to the kingdom that I met the three sisters. At that time I was Thane of Glamis, and it was not un-normal to be greeted as so. When the sisters greeted me as Thane of Cawdor however, I was surprised, but to my shock was when they announced that I shall be king hereafter. At first I didn't know what to make...
