Jackson Leads King's to a Victory Over Susquehanna 24-6 With 210 Yards In The Second Half King's was able to beat one of the M.A.C'S powerhouses for the first time on Saturday thanks to freshman Richard Jackson. Coach Mannello said after the game "This game was the biggest win in the schools history since starting the program in 1993." He also added, " I gave the seniors a challenge and they stepped up and won the game." The first half for King's was a hard one. Struggling on offense it put the defense in a hole many times. There were sparks of life on some drives but King's would end up having to punt on all of their drives. The defense would be outstanding stopping the crusaders on all of their drives, with key interceptions by Junior Sean Frazier and Senior Ken Koziminski. Going into the half the score would be 0-0.

When the second half started you could see that the Monarchs came ready to play. On their first drive they the Monarchs were stopped for two plays before freshman Rich Jackson was able to run around the end to get the Monarchs a first down and give them some momentum. This run would give the King's squad good field position and a chance for a score. On the very next play Richard Jackson would run around the corner for the Monarch's first score of the day. This score would give the Monarch's some confidence leading into the fourth quarter. This would give the Monarch's a 7-0 lead. The defense would go on to hold the Crusader's on their next drive.

At the start of the Fourth quarter the King's offense would begin to drive down the field with key catches made by senior tight end Merritt Carr and senior wide receiver Jim Pio. King's would make it down to the 3-yard line before Senior tailback Chris Shivery would give them the lead on a three yard dive play. The score would be 14-0 with thirteen minutes left in the game. On the ensuing Crusader drive Sean Frazier would intercept a pass and the Monarchs would drive down the field and kick a field goal. King's would let the Crusaders score to make the score 17- 6 after a missed Crusader extra point. Jackson would score the final Monarch touchdown from the four yard line breaking two tackles to make the final score 24-6.

After the game Richard Jackson said, " I am just grateful that I got in the game considering I am a freshman but I believe in my talents and I knew I could contribute." Senior co-captain Chris Shivery said, " I love playing in these big games because it just makes it so much more enjoyable to win." King's will be playing Albright next week at home for the final home game of the year.
