Ordem e Progresso Brazil is a country of order and progress. It is the fifth largest country in the world. The Brazilian flag represents nearly everything Brazil has to offer. The lush fields and forests, Brazil's wealth in gold, and the usual navy blue sky that one finds in the tropical region. Brazil is a country with a large territory with plenty of natural resources, a stable government, a large population, and a modern culture.

Brazil is located in South America. It occupies nearly one half of the entire area of the continent. This large country was discovered in 1500 by Pedro Alvares Cabral. The republic is composed of twenty six states and the federal district. The federal district includes Brasilia, which replaced Rio de Janeiro as the national capital in 1960. The houses of the federal government are represented by the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary bodies, much similar to those of the United States.

Brazil is taken up by forty percent of the Amazon rainforest. The rainforest is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. A large number of fruits are cultivated for Brazil's use and for exporting. There have also been many plants that provide medical cures for countries all over the world.

Brazil is made up of one hundred and sixty million people. Approximately twenty two percent of the population is composed of mulattoes. People of Portuguese descent are the second largest group , followed by the mestizos. Most of the people in Brazil live near the Atlantic Ocean in the well known cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
