AristotleAristotle is one of the major names recorded in philosophy, logic and sciences. He is know as the scientist in the world who analyzed the world with national and logical thinking, unlike the people of this time who believe in fantastic myths and long tails. Furthermore he became the greatest Greek philosophers of all times. Aristotle was born in 384 BC, at Stagirus. Aristotle was a student of Plato, in Plato¡¯s Academy. Aristotle opposed some of Plato¡¯s ideas, and when Plato died, Aristotle left Athens and spent time studying biology in Asia Minor. Aristotle was a tutor for Alexander the Great, and when Alexander conquered Athens, Aristotle returned to Athens and made his own Academy called the Lyceum.

Aristotle had numerous of philosophy on logic, physical, psychological, and on natural history. Not only Aristotle studied philosophy, he also studied biology. He classified animals with similar characters into genera, and distinguished the species within the genera.

He also divided the animals into two types: those who had red blood those who do not, where are currently known as vertebrates and invertebrates. Aristotle distinguished whales and dolphins from fish by observing how sharks give birth to live young and other fishes give birth by producing eggs.

One of the major compliments of Aristotle was hydrologic cycle from his thoughts on earth sciences. ¡°Now the sun, moving as it does, sets up processes of change and becoming and decay, and by its agency the finest and sweetest water is everyday carried up and is dissolved into vapor and rises to the upper region, where it is condensed again by the cold and so returns to the earth.¡± He thought that earth form changes from time to time.
